 When a guy starts to shut down, it's best to just give him space. If only I'd known that rule sooner, I would've left him alone. It took me ages to figure it out, until I stumbled upon a book called "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus." See, I'd never been in a super intense relationship before, so how was I supposed to know how guys work? Growing up without a dad didn't help either. It's kind of wild that I had to learn this stuff from a book. But hey, that's what happens when you're forbidden from dating during school. I still remember this one time a senior tried to chat me up on the phone, and my mom shut him down so fast it made my head spin. I was so scared of her that I didn't even dare to think about dating until I landed my first job. Yeah, it was that intense.

Okay, so here's part two of the Pandora's box. After diving deep into some shadow work, I finally started to understand why that moment hit me so hard. Turns out, he bears a striking resemblance to my biological father—like, 20% similar. And that's where things got all tangled up in my head. It felt like this weird father-daughter moment, you know? I know, I sound totally bonkers, but hey, that's what TikTok therapists are for, right? Though, yeah, maybe I should consider talking to a legit psychologist. But anyway, I've come to realize that expecting that kind of treatment from any guy is just not fair. I mean, I can't go asking for something I never got from my own dad. So, today's my birthday, and guess what? This morning, I went and sprained my ankle. Yep, talk about bad timing, right? I texted him about it, and honestly, he was pretty shocked. I mean, I totally messed up our birthday plans. But you know what? He was super patient with me, like surprisingly patient. I'm not sure why he was being so sweet to me. It's kinda throwing me off.
